If I had to choose between these two banks, which would you all recommend? Comments welcome, please! Thanks, J

You should have a neither option also................

Wachovia, pronounced Walk-over-ya.

Go with your local credit union.

I see no one has chosen either.

Everyone else makes a good point to which I can only add, what difference does it make? Local credit union sounds like the wisest of choices to me, too.

Hah! I didn't know the CEO of Wachovia was a member of RRF (only one vote between the two choices)!

Thanks everyone. Wow, it's 50/50 on the votes as of right now! Actually, this would be for regular old savings and checking, and for reasons I won't go into quite yet, local CU is not an option, just yet... Thanks though, and keep em comin'!

J, I've had checking and High Interest Money Market Accounts through Wachovia and have never had an issue. My mortgage is through Chase... or was until the portfolio it was in was bought out by IBM. Chase has been fairly easy to deal with and we've had zero complaints in the 4+ years that we have been involved with them. I'd look into the credit union as others have stated. You can't go wrong with them when it comes to savings or loans. No vote on either bank from me.

I would advise a local credit union as well; even though I've been a Wells Fargo Customer for over 30 years and for the most part have been happy with the service. Since they acquired Wachovia, finding a branch is like finding a Starbucks.

I've had no problems with Wachovia. Long-time customer.

We'll see how it goes after the full Wells-fargo transformation takes place........

I used to be a delighted WAMU depositor, but the after Chase took over I found too many reasons to close my accounts.I found a large reputable credit union and am (WAMU)happy again.
So, my advice is to look into a credit union as well.
