Although I was never a huge fan, I always did wonder where in the wide, wide world of sports they came up with such an imaginative name for the band. Lynyrd Skynyrd, indeed.

Just FYI, Marshall Tucker was a janitor the Caldwell boys got to know when they were living on the poor side of town in Spartanburg, SC.
