royclough wrote:excellent I have a video somewhere of them possibly performing murder In My Heart live, possibly not the greatest quality but as far as I am aware I am only person to have a video of a full show done at Frontier club in Batley, Yorkshire in early 8Os.

They did a lot of Sire stuff on this particular night

I'll try and find it and see if it is worth posting.
Thanks, Roy!! I would love to see the guys :) performing "Murder in My Heart" live!! And any of the other Sire stuff as well. Here's hoping!!

Not from my vid, which I still can't find, think it may have been filed under "junk" by OH.

Did some "searchin'" and editing and here we have a video of murder in my heart "live"

Quality not brilliant but hope you enjoy it

Play it Loud

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Roy!!! The guys looked great and the audio, turned up LOUD, (is there any other way to play Murder in My Heart?!! :D) is astonishingly as good as the studio...to my untrained, not looking for fault, ears!!!

I appreciate your 'searchin for the Searchers' --- and the editing!

One of the strongest "Sire songs", and very ably performed. This and the recent Running scared clip (excellent performances by Mike and John) is from the same stage and about the same time. All I've seen from this swansong period of this line-up is very good stuff! Above all, they show two guitarists who work together as hand and glove, after more than 20 years of tight interplay. I think it was a good thing that McNally developed the solo role, leaving Pender to concentrate on the singing. They know each other out and in, and it is such a pity that this cooperation ended. I'm quite sure they both have missed each other as musicians, after the split.

I couldn't agree more. They seem to have hit a peak as a live act around 1979-82; everything I've seen from that stretch (including the two clips mentioned) has been uniformly excellent. And that makes Mike's departure all the more painful still...Exactly why The Searchers didn't make it again while they were on Sire is of the great unexplained mysteries of life.
