Original Horseshoe vs New Hi-Gain

Post by coolhandjjl »

I've a 2009 4003. Love it. I left the plastic treble pick up cover on, I rest my hand there. But it looks like plastic. I see that many players remove them, and either leave them open or buy one of the aftermarket covers for the opening. I don't care for them, plus I would miss the place to rest my hand. If I put an original horseshoe in there, could it be done? Would it sound same as my hi-gain?
