History of the 360 WB
Hello All,
I did a search, but couldn't find a thread dedicated to this topic. If I missed something, let me know and give me the link. I am really interested in this model and would like to acquire on, probably in 12 string and definitely in JG, someday. I wanted to find out when they were made, how rare they are and if Ric will make them again. Also, pricing info would be nice, but I will be checking the registry.
Please, the more details the better. I love learning about Rics, so I eager to hear what you folks know about these.
Thanks in advance,
LEL

Re: History of the 360 WB
The first 24-fret 360 and 360/12WB's appeared in the mid 70's. A local shop has a gorgeous 1974 360/12WB FG. Prior to that, they were 21-fret models that are usually known as "OS" (old-style) rather than "WB". For instance, one made in 1967 would normally be called a 360/12 OS; however, nothing is "technically" wrong with the WB distinction. The terms are virtually interchangeable.
The WB models were removed from the RIC pricelist in November of 1995; however, I have seen some with serial numbers as late as 1997. This is a case of the guitar being ordered prior to discontinuation, and not being completed until a few years later. This is very common in the RIC world, most often seen with Color of the Year models.

You can check out the recent thread on Double Bound Terminology where Paul and Ron have given us some good insights into the history of (and model variations over the years) of these wonderful guitars.

Is this what you're looking for? They are out there. Common? No. Rare? Not really.

This is a '96 that I recently added to my collection. It's got a fat neck (not wide, but thick with full shoulders) and it sounds great.
A P
p.s. Paul--that honeyglo 350 is really nice.

If it is to be, it is up to me.

Re: History of the 360 WB
Here's my pile. Two are 381s, so they're not "WBs" but they are double bound models. . . Does that last statement make things more confusing?!
