CJ,

It is a nice blue. I think that is the best picture of a bass with that finish I have seen. BTW, how does it differ from Midnight Blue? I have never seen a Ric bass in person other than my 4003 JG.

LEL, if I may, Azureglo is a pure solid blue with no metallic. It varies from a slightly dull blue, to a bright blue (like CJ's), to a dark, navy blue. Midnight Blue also varies, but is a metallic blue. Midnight superseded Azureglo in the mid 1980s, supposedly overlapping in time a bit.

Midnight Blue looks really dark - like a late twilight clear sky.

Here is a 360/12 guitar in MID: http://www.pickofthericks.com/products/ ... Price.html

Azureglo is just a particular shade of blue, and typical Rick fashion, not always the same exact shade, especially after age, etc. set in. I think the big deal about it is that it's a relatively rare color...

This pic of mine captures it's shade pretty well (at least on my monitor):
I hope you can make it to a SCARF soon, CJ, so your AZ Blue bass, and my AZ Blue WB can pose for a photo together!
My first Rick guitar; an 11/84 built AZ blue 365 WB, with factory ordered "hot" toasters, or "vintage chrome bar pickups" as they were called back in the day.

FYI, the sound hole proportions are not distorted due to the angle of the photo; in comparison to my other Ricks, the sound hole on this guitar is significantly larger.

here and here are pictures of my AZG's.

I disagree. MID looks really dark when it is dark. In bright light it looks really bright. here are pictures of my favorite MID.

Bert, my comment about darkness was based on the one I saw at POTR and it was a beautiful dark blue.

The new ones are deeper and quite alluring, makes me almost want to buy a blue instrument.

Midnight Blue has gone through a few changes. Some being very dark and some not quite so dark.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

That's a 481 SF on the 'Bay, innit? Looks like those frets are slanted! A rare one indeed.

I bet it'd be a big hit in the Netherlands, no? :D
If the register is a good indication I buy most Rickenbackers in Holland. ;-) I would not buy one.
ha, you've already got too much ricks that's why,no? :D
I seriously like it, the orange.
It's the missing link.

There is no such thing as "too much ricks". ;-)

I do not like the color orange and I am not peticularly nationalistic. (And I have an aversion against soccer.)

I already know that, it's my wife that doesn't understand.

Good, me neither, except for the orange. I still think it's cool.
On a guitar that is, off course.

Nothing to be ashamed off, of course - just think of a world with only Jetglo... come to think of it, it would be pure heaven :P

Uhm, not sure... I might or not get it if a Middayorange would exist!

Azureglo reminds me of the Thunderbirds... They ought to have called it Traceyglo!
