Er'r yeah, I'm wanting to get a new set of saddles for "the other one" (my 4008) as, well lets face it sometimes the saddle notching on those older ones can be a bit wonky.
The pairs of strings are too close together at the bridge (even closer than they are at the nut)
This is a forgivable fault as octave basses were not an exact science at the time (we have Hamer to thank for raising the barr)
What happens is the pairs choke out on each other in the higher frets and you get this garbled sound...
A fresh set of new production saddles from the boutique will cure the problem....
I'm wondering is someone is willing to purchase the saddles from Rickenbacker and forward them to me (plus expenses of course)
Any takers?

Hey Eden: I need one as well, so I am buying five as I type.
If you have a vintage saddle to trade ('73), that's what I need. Otherwise, I'll send the four to you and we'll figure out something at some point. PM me your mailing address.

Can we have everything louder than everything else?
