Alhem, some more of us need to start signing up for the jam session list, because though the attendee list is getting nicely long, the JAMMING signup list that people have been kicking me and a few other folks in the pants have repeatedly suggested at past jams remains conspicuously empty; I hear nothing but crickets. There are only a few of us who've signed up. Look it over, and jump in! :D

There will also most likely be a few people there hoping to jam that never or seldom post here.

Forgive me for being brain-dead about this. I would like to sign up but all I see on the list is time slots. I'm not a good enough player to just commit to anything - is there a song list I can sign up to? Or even a genre of music? (I looked at the list posted on page one here.)

Thanks,

DT

I thought the time slots were for bands to sign up for sets. Where is the Jam list?

Contact the respective heads of each section; so far we have me for the 80s part, Jake for one part of the 60s amalgamation, and Scott J for some of the 70s stuff. Check out earlier in the thread. We'll try to figure out something a bit more user friendly for signups that everyone can see.

Yep, we've got several categories of songs and themes floating out there, but we've only got a handful of people who have commited to joining in for this or that segment... At the same time, we know we've got 30+ jammers attending and more on the way. :? We're guessing that each grouping will do maybe 6 or 7 tunes mini set and rotate in another group

So Far ----
Scotty has listed enough potential tunes for about 3 mini sets of 70s era stuff
Jake has put together about 3 mini sets of an amalgamation of tunes/artists from classic rock era
Skip's working on a Surf and Instrumental mini set or two
Paulie's putting together The Jam, Ramones and other 80s and New Wave stuff into a couple of mini sets

Probably will be a contingent or two of 60s tunes; ... or if anybody wants to focus on something singular like a Beatles mini set or a 12-string mini set, or a mini set of GlamRock or perhaps a Metal mini set --- or ??
Any of you SCARFers with ideas, please just post the suggestion. :) cause we need to get Drummers and Bassists and Singers lined up for time-slots and we're trying to get everyone plugged into the type of music that each wants to play.

As an example if you see 3 or 4 of Jake's tunes that you dig -- give us a signal to put your name there or if Scotty's suggestions are your cup of tea, we can list your name there, etc. etc.

Got your PM datru and you're good. Since you are the first to sign up, pick a song or songs you want to do.
Anyone else? Colin? Rich? Gary? Paul?

Surf Song List :
Apache
Pipeline
Walk, Don't Run
Penetration
Out of Limits
Wipe Out
Rawhide (Link Wray-not TV Show theme)
Rumble
Rebel Rouser

When you sign up, indicate if you want to play lead, share lead, play rhythm, play bass, play drums, play keys? Most of these songs clock in at 3 min. or less, so feel free to add to the list.

I sent a list of stuff to Joey on the time sheet. Hopefully he can forward it to the cat herders...

I hate to say that I've decided not to make the trek out there for SCARF. However, I will be saving up vacation days for a road trip to next spring's MARF.

We can add Bobbo to the list of people coming and most likely my band will be there. I'll know for sure this weekend.

Wow, where have I been to miss all this posts. Just trying to catch up.

Scott- I would love to play in the 70's genre jam. I know about 80% of the songs on your list. :-)

Skip, if you (or anyone else) needs a bass player, I know all but two of these songs. Just let me know what songs need a bass player and I'll try a learn them. Of course, deferring to Joey and Tom O'keefe.

It looks like Mark & I might try to do a set of stuff not normally done on Ricks-REAL Country, 50's Instro, Rockabilly, and some Atkins/Travers picking stuff.
I'd love to QB the Surf/Instro Jam, but I want others to play the leads. Colin-you were great on "Shake & Stomp"-do another one!
Mark hinted that he might bring a rare 2 X 15 Rick Combo amp from the 50's for display.
I'm also trying to get some Steel guys to participate.
Ooh, just noticed this. If you can, compile a song wish list. That ought to make some guys salivate and want to join in.
I'd love to hear some 50s stuff at a Rick jam. :) You'd never know it from looking at me now, but I love rockabilly, and my hair naturally pompadours, if I let it.

Hmm, no one seems to want to take the reins for a Beatles segment. Surprising!
