"Interesting backgrounds... A truck tire and a dumpster... Hmm..."

It's a well-calculated backdrop called "industrial primitive" to offset and emphasize the finely honed beauty of the instrument. (And besides, that's where the sun was shining best.)
That might be Paul's story and, if so, I am sure he's sticking to it (or not).

That's probably why I'm not a professional photographer... I get it, I like it, but I'd never have thought of it...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

And, that's not a dumpster, that's Paul's back yard workshop, um, yeah,................ that's what it is.

Boy howdy! That's a fantastic pair of acoustics. The teaburst is a perfect marriage of traditional instrument finish and glitz.

The flipflop effect of the pearl coats is stunning! Impressive!

Thomas, I sculpt these 100% by hand, the "old-fashioned" way--with a spokeshave, rasps, and sandpaper in successively finer grades. At this point, no power tools are used. The small volume doesn't justify CNC.

As a result, no two are exactly alike.
That's what I figured. Beautiful! 8)

I am a professional commercial photographer. Sometimes the best light to bring out wood grain and sparkle of a specialized finish is the good 'ol sun!
