here's a band that doesn't necessarily scream Rickenbacker. mark e. smith and his wife at the time, brix smith (on lovely Rickenbacker) wrote a score/album that was performed live with a ballet group, called "i am kurious oranj." see clip:

I'm not such a fan of their work in general BUT "Live at the Witch Trials" is definitely in my top 40 list of LPs. Amazing sound, like nothing I've ever confronted. The drums are pounding hard and crazy in front of the mix and the jangly guitar is almost in the background, very unusual for that era. With m.e.smith's vocals sneering all over the place. You have no idea what he's so ****** off at, but you damn well wanna stay out of his way!
