How about this old beater? It started life as a stock 2001 Gibson Historic '56 Les Paul reissue. Now after nearly 9 years in the trenches and upgrades that include a vintage set of 1955 P90s, N.O.S. 1950s Sprague .022uf/400v "bumblebee" caps, a matched quartet of N.O.S. CTS 250K pots and a vintage '50s tailpiece and studs it looks like this -

Got this last week. 1994 Gibson Custom Shop '57 Reissue serial number 007! Well 7 4007 actually. Anyway it is the 7th '57 reissue made in 1994 and it was painted by Tom Murphy.

Left to right (and first to last in the clips):
- Kala Fretless U-Bass bass ukulele - 20.5" scale, piezo pickup, solid polyurethane strings (like O-ring material)
- My old fretless Frankenstein Gibson - 31" scale, humbucker neck, P-Bass bridge, stereo-wired, tape-wound strings
- My Rick 2030 with the "unusual" body - 33.5" scale, stock electronics. Half-rounds in the clip, though these days I usually have flats on it for more typical vintage rock and roll tone.
- My mint 1968-69 Hagstrom 8-String - 31" scale, all stock with TI Jazz Flats on all eight strings.
- Pedulla Buzz fretless - 34" scale, jazz/jazz Bartolini active pickups, rounds.
- Hofner 500/1 V63 factory fretless, 30" scale, stock electronics, TI Jazz Flats
- Hofner 500/1 V63 fretted, 30", TI Jazz Flats. The Hofner clip (the last one) is this bass, though as long as you aren't sliding much, the two Hofners sound about the same. If I want the fretless to be a bit more like a string bass, I stick a set of tape-wounds on it, though the uke does a better string bass.
