Young Turqs

Post by bassduke49 »

Beautiful summer day here in SE Wisconsin, so had to shoot some pix. Turquoise, while not a "color of the year," is uncommon compared with the standard Fireglo, Jetglo, Mapleglo (and even Midnight Blue), so adding these two to the Rickenbacker National Forest was irresistible. This is an '04 4004L and an '02 4001V63. I just got the Laredo today from a shop on eBay. It is one of only two Turq Laredos that I know of. The V63 was bought from Steve Wood a year ago, and is one of only three that I know of in Turq. They look great together, eh?

Hi Paul!

Beautiful pair for sure... but then, you always had good taste in Rickenbackers. ;-)
Nice to see you're still around here, and I hope things are good on your end.

Cheers

Paul,

Thought you might like a 4003s/5 Turq to help finish out the family trio. Cheers!

Sean!!! Great to hear from you. After I bought the Snow White V63 from you, you seemed to disappear and I feared the worst! So glad you're back!

Yes, they look very nice and better than any pairing of my 4 Ric basses. I see that I'm too late for the adoption angle.

Huh, I'm surprised at how similar the body cut is. I'm surprised I haven't seen more 4004 to 4001 conversions. Not that I'd suggest that of course.
