Death cab for Cutie
One of my favorite tunes off the recent Death cab CD. This on is live, check out that cool vintage 335....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUt2S_dWaTw

Nice! Sounds like good fodder for The KARMA Kings.
Re: Death cab for Cutie
The KARMA Kings should do this one, it's got a great bass intro:
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
Re: Death cab for Cutie
Good band. Nice reminder that Rics don't just jangle.
Re: Death cab for Cutie
Good song - I've liked this one since I first heard it; nice to see a video and a Rickenbacker guitar - thanks!

+100
DCFC is hands-down one of my top five bands from the last decade.
Ben Gibbard is like my generation's Bob Dylan (ourely in a poetic way....he can sing bit better than Dylan).

Cool!
I watched a bunch of the other clips from the same show, and the other guitarist (sorry, don't know his name and am too lazy to look it up) uses three Ricks throughout the gig: the 335, a 360 (with vibrato), and a 660/12. My faves are "Cath" and "Crooked Teeth."

figured that would rile your feathers. Granted, anything I say is my ridiculous opinion.
ps, I surely didn't mean Gibbard was to the same extent. Dylan is always far and above genius. Still can't sing though.

Certainly not the Dylan. Maybe the Stephen Stills or something of that nature.collin wrote:Ben Gibbard is like my generation's Bob Dylan (ourely in a poetic way....he can sing bit better than Dylan).s4001 wrote:Good band. Nice reminder that Rics don't just jangle.

Re: Death cab for Cutie
Ha! When's the last time you saw a 335 on stage or featured by any band. I'm sure we could come up with a list, but it would be short. Do we know what year? Nice finish.
Re: Death cab for Cutie
I think I'm watching that right now on my local PBS station . the show "Soundstage"
I never really listened to much of them , even though they are "local" for me then I heard them , found out later who it was and felt slightly like a jackass for not checking them out sooner.
I also have to disagree with the Bob Dylan comparison.. I think he's closer to a new generation Neil Young but hey, whatta I know??? I'm just a bass player
