Anyone listen to "Breakfast with the Beatles" on Sunday mornings from KLOS in Los Angeles with Chris Carter? They broadcast it on Sirius/XM Radio on Sundays from 6 to 9am PST. Today they had a Lennon tribute special. I only caught a bit of it, and am hoping that I can dl a podcast somehow. Here's a bit of the playlist they send out, of interest to us Rickophiles:
The Beatles –You Can’t Do That – AHDN
Flip of “Can’t Buy Me Love” in the UK & US.
John playing his Rickenbacker model No. 1996 slimline…
Recorded 25th February 1964 in 9 takes (5 breakdowns)
Musicians:
John Lennon – lead vocal, lead guitar; Paul McCartney – backing vocal, bass guitar; George Harrison – backing vocal, 12-string guitar; Ringo Starr – drums, bongos, cowbell
John used his new Rickenbacker for this one, and it was the first time that George committed his 12-string to tape. It allows for a much richer sound and a couple of bands immediately followed suit – most notably The Byrds, who’s aggressive style influenced George to write If I Needed Someone on Rubber Soul. [N.B.: A normal 12-string guitar has the usual six strings, but doubled-up, with the second one an octave higher than the first one… apart from the first pair, which are identical. But George’s was specially made to have the pairs switched around, so he hit the normal string before the higher one.]
Update: Anyone listening to KLOS can listen to the rebroadcast of the show at 12ET (9PST?), not sure if that's only on XM/Sirius or if it's also on KLOS's "Listen Live" online, but if so, point your browser to: http://player.streamtheworld.com/_playe ... 8&nid=2920

I am in L.A., but I prefer to listen to Cal State Northridge's (www.KCSN.org) Beatles' program. On at the same timeas BWTB (on the net as well). No commercials, lot's o' rarities (Paul's demo of "Wings Of A Nightengale. Wow).
Good playlists through the week too!

Re: "Breakfast With The Beatles" anyone?
I used to listen to "breakfast with" and then the northridge broadcast I think it ran an hour later or something. I really didn't like when they made it BWTB earlier (cuz I'm a bit lazy on sunday mornings
), but when i do happen to wake up in time I tend to try to catch BWTB. Northridge also does a Dylan show sunday nights too, great station.
