A friend of mine from high school, Julie Perron, who is an accomplished singer and guitar player will be stopping by to jam as well, which will be really cool; she'll be able to take care of some of the lead vocal duties, and hopefully do some picking and strumming. She knows a lot of songs as I recall! :)

Hey Guys,

Sorry I've been a bit out of touch. I've been super busy with work, travel, and tradeshows; but it's Thursday night now and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.......RICKTOBERFEST!

Saturday can't come soon enough.

What to bring? What to jam? What time does the bar open?

This should be fun :D

Good idea to put the spreadsheet on Google docs, Scott. I didn't realize it would be a shared file in real time.

Glad to see a whole lot more names filled in the slots on the Jam song sheet / chart :D

Notice that the song chart was now "flipped" into "alphbetical order" by song name, as they were previously "batched" in a loose configuration based upon the ad-hoc jam categories .... all the Surf & Instro tunes .... a bunch of Jake's classic rock tunes .... Scotty's 70's suggestions ... the 80s New Wave and Power Pop segment .... and a little bit of everything at the end.

Hmm, what would a Rick capable of playing death metal look like? I'm picturing either an HB equipped 480 with a Floyd rose and Jumbo Frets, or else a mahoganhy or alder-bodied 350 or Combo 850 shaped guitar, with true, fat dual coil HB voiced Rick Humbuckers (HB2s?), jumbo frets, a wild paint job, and a Floyd Rose Trem, or else a TOM style bridge and stop TP. I'd play it! :D

Back to the song lists. Gentlemen, if you're playing on a song, or it was one of your particular suggestions, I recommend bringing three copies of the musical cheat sheet of the song(s)for your fellow jammers, eh?

It's too bad The Starting Gate has Black ceilings and all that stuff hanging down like sprinklers, ventilation, cables and lighting, beer signs, etc. because Pat Hayes said he could have accessed a song sheet/lyrics "projector' from The Byrds Collective, but I don't know how such a device would/could work there at Starting Gate, with no place to "project" it too. :?

We're back to someone needing to know someone in high places, at some campaign HQ, to borrow their Teleprompters.....

What to Jam --- go to the Real Time Google sign up sheet
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key ... y=CMPWm4IP (same link as previous page of this thread) and add your name where you want. Space is reserved for you on The Ramones and Plimsouls numbers !! :) ..and any other tunes you like !

Bar opens early -- they start serving breakfast around 7 or 8 AM. Skip says their early morning riser Bloody Marys were a favorite at the Surf Guitar expo. They have decent food there.

We're meeting at Paulie's around 8:30 - 8:45ish to load the P.A. and Drumkit, etc. to get things set up at Starting Gate in time for our 10 AM start. Roadies welcome !
