A website showing what gear was used?
A website showing what gear was used?
A long time a go I recall there being a website that had every album/song the beatles released and it would list all the instruments used on each song. Has it since been taken down? I'm sure someone else knows what I'm talking about.

I've seen that website and all it does is show what amplifiers they used. It doesn't break it down in the level of detail like the site i'm looking for does. Thanks though. Perhaps the website I'm talking about is gone...I'll just go by the book. It was nice to have a digita reference though.

Re: A website showing what gear was used?
There was another site; something like beatlesgear.uk.something - it's been gone for quite a while. I probably still have the url in my favorites at home. While it was interesting, I'm not sure it was terribly accurate. Then again, there are a number of resources that do not agree on this.
Andy Babiuk's Beatles Gear is worth getting for sure, but it doesn't specify which instrument was used for each song (in some cases it does). William Dowlding's Beatlessongs tries to, but there appear to be errors based on the preponderance of other evidence (and it's more who playe bass or guitar, not which bass or guitar). Walter Everett's The Beatles as Musicians has a listing of instruments in the appendix and sheds some light on tracks where different basses were used, for example. Even Lewisohn's efforts leave out a fair bit.
All in all, every source is questionable to some degree.

Can we have everything louder than everything else?
Re: A website showing what gear was used?
just google "beatles equipment" and you will see many zillions of sites. Otherwise onl the remaining Beatles know for sure.
