By the mid 80's the hippies were corporate, and RIC had seen enough. No more tuna boats!
Disclaimer:
I did play a quite beautiful 68 a few years back, that was super clean, wonderful neck and it was perfect for that Entwistle/Tommy tone...
Summary~ An expensive anachronism. Now, if you will excuse me, it's time to go play the B side of "Monday, Monday"...

the major differences were the overall length and the sound when switching between the pickups... I rarely used the treble position but the bass position brought out a nice growly tone thru my SVT....also , the necks were VERY thin and felt fragile, but were NICE to play
Subjectivity/objectivity is a tough one though...they are intriguing basses if a bass can be that way
If you come to MARF, you can try my 74' BG WB all you want, I remember that feeling and how greasy,
"time wounds all heels"...groucho - lennon - Jane Ace!
