Acoustics?

Post by jack1953 »

I guess Rickenbacker no longer makes their acoustic 700 series? Some awesome looking ones on the website, but the prices are killer!

I have built Rickenbacker acoustics, under license, for about 4 years now. "Killer" is a relative term. These are entirely handmade to highest standards, in my workshop in Northern California.

What website are you referring to? I don't quote prices on any websites!

One of my drives in life is save up enough money to buy one of these stellar guitars. If I stay single for a few more decades I may be able to pull it off.

The Rickenbacker website is where I saw the guitars, but the prices were listed on only a couple of sites I Googled that were being sold by personal owners.

BTW are you still making them? All of them on their website have been listed as discontinued.

That's because they've discontinued making them, for the time being.

That's what led to my acquiring the license in November 2006. I've been building them ever since.

The photo above was taken earlier this week, BTW.

Here's a link to photos of a few that I've built:

You can have half a neck for that...

Which half would you prefer, bass or treble?

Paul,
On the serious side, what do these gems go for and how do they line up with the other high end acoustics?

Love the fire extinguisher next to the photo of the 730 L-12 fireglow. Does it come with the guitar?

For sure, it has to, in case the fireglo starts kindling you must have something to beat it down to protect the guitar from burning down....
