Will the chrome pickup cover of a 4003 fit on a 4001?

Thanks Joey. A friend of a friend here locally needed some fast cash and offered me an '81 4001 jetglo. I'm going to polish it up and sell it. I was amazed at how different the sound is from my 2010 4003!

That's the way they made them Jack! The Klusons that Rickenbacker used in the '60s, '70s (after the flirtation with Grovers) and early '80s are "reverse", just like tuners on vintage Fender basses. It takes some getting used to but there's nothing wrong with the concept, it's just...... different.

Anything out there any better than Dr. Duck's as far as restoring finish?

I used both of those products on my 97 firelo 4003 when I got it and it shined up like new money! I actually used it last week on my Fender Rhodes gold sparkle piano bass ala Ray manzarek and it gave it a glass shiny finish...can't say enough good things about it.

Christopher,

I can get the Scratch X at Amazon, but it appears there are several different types of Lymol. Do you remember which type you got and did you use Scratch X first then Zymol?

The blue one, available at AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, Walmart, the usual auto supply places. Kind of pricey, but well worth it for shine and lasting.
