Paul,
On the serious side, what do these gems go for and how do they line up with the other high end acoustics?

Thanks for the change of mood, Jack. I don't quote prices publicly. As for "how they sound", that is highly subjective.

I have a number of customers who prefer the Rickenbacker acoustics that I've been honored to build, including one who waited over five years for his Wayne Henderson dreadnought. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayne_Hend ... luthier%29

As is the rule with regard to handbuilt acoustic guitars, voices vary, and while never small, can occasionally be thunderous.

In general, the sound has been characterized as "precise" and "balanced".

I had never seen a Rickenbacker acoustic in person, but was delighted to see two at the Olivia's Vintage Guitar booth at the Arlington Guitar Show. Beautiful! Check Olivia's web site for examples.

They also have the "Verona" 730L/12 I posted this Summer on the RRF. No idea on the asking, however.

I don't remember seeing that one go out but it's extremely nice, as is expected.

Surely, it needs a home.

I don't know who does the photography for Olivia's, but he sure is one very good photographer.

Are Olivias' photos a true representation of the colour would you say Paul?

Looks like Olivia's has just set up a properly lit product photo booth. The steps for creating one of these should be on the web. But it usually requires a couple of umbrella strobes and a backdrop. Just place the product there and once you get the camera and strobe settings down it's pretty automatic. Chris at POTR, Wildwood and Willie's must all have similar set-ups as their photos are normally quite nicely lit with good detail as well. I have a friend who does nothing but take product photos for items to sell on E-Bay. The presentation is a big part of the sale, that's for sure.

And when you have a PW built acoustic to feature, that makes it so much better.

Yes, Graham. At least on my monitor, this is how that particular instrument looks in bright sunlight or strong, color-corrected light as in a pro photo setup. These are very nice photos. I believe John, Olivia's co-owner, is the photographer.

That is a fabulous colour. I think it would look amazing on the 4005/8
