Eden dont be so sure that a special one off its got the residue of BLUE tape near the base. This could be a special cardboard box a very rare one.

I was right, it is cardboard!.

"Danelectro the guitar that has no right to sound as good as they do"

If that is one of the 90s korean models, they were very well made and were such Viby guitars. I'm almost sure that the one that I had, had a nitrocellulose finish as well....

"Ga-boinnnnnnng!" (thats how it sounds......) 8)

It could use a better string set but it plays well and is easy to adjust. The build quality is quite good overall. It's not very heavy and fits comfy with a strap in standing position; not such a good fit when seated.
The tone controls may be wired wrong, they turn in opposite directions to each other.I'll dig into it later.
It had no paperwork with it so I went into the Danelectro website for information and found no entry for this bass now.So, I'm guessing that they have been quietly discontinued, which may account for the eBay prices dropping.
