Hmm.... the terms "merchant" and "load of cobblers'" come to mind....

Re: The Salvation of Gibson
I never thought I'd be bored while watching a video about a guitar.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!
Re: The Salvation of Gibson
What a joke!
Re: The Salvation of Gibson
And you wonder why everyone is buying PRS's new '58 Les Paul look-a-like after they won the lawsuit.
Re: The Salvation of Gibson
I like the one guy's comment: "It is an Edsel"
well-stated----except the Edsel was even cooler than this guitar.
What a ridiculous press meeting. I've never seen a duller presentation try to present something that isn't "news" at all. Seriously----did anybody watch that and get any real, concrete revelations about that guitar? Still looks like it's wood and six strings to me!
The man has lost all touch with reality.

Don't get me into politics, religion, or sex.billydlight wrote:Sadly, It has happened beforeIt's pathetic when one person's ego can distort his perceptions so very much that he loses touch with reality, while thinking himself a visionary.
Who the heck would design a guitar with three different kinds of knobs on the same instrument? Bloody L!
No mention of price, but depending on whether it's over or under $2K (and I'll bet it's over), they will sell either 6 or 3.
Re: The Salvation of Gibson
Is this some sort of new style of presentation?
To me it feels like a sad attempt at something, I don't even know what .

Kira: Priceless.
With so many viable possibilities available to the imagination how does something like this go "forward"? Does it have GPS too so those on tour can be reminded of the venue? Will it come with the robot features option as well? (Yes
)
After seeing this clip I now a have better idea of how Gibson has come up with their business plan as of late. Perhaps Gumby and Pokey had more to do with this than we might think.

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Maybe we're getting PUNK'D!

Paul Reed Smith has got to be throwing a party!
Re: The Salvation of Gibson
All I can say is....

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
Re: The Salvation of Gibson
I like the idea of guitar makers coming up with new ideas. We talk about it all the time on this forum with regards to copying designs and being creative. However, the presentation, aside from the poor recording quality, does nothing to describe why this is revolutionary. They have assigned various characteristics to it, but haven't explained the basis. I see there isn't much in the way of the neck to body joint so the upper frets are accessible, but that doesn't seem revolutionary.
Couple that with the high Gibson price tag and this may not go anywhere.
