This "revolution" is a PR nightmare, and the only "uprising" i'm feeling is vomit. What kind of CEO smashes a product he's currently selling? This guy is a pompous *******, you don't see him insulting his "fans" when they're buying his 7000$ historic re-issues and custom shop guitars.

However, the presentation, aside from the poor recording quality, does nothing to describe why this is revolutionary. They have assigned various characteristics to it, but haven't explained the basis. I see there isn't much in the way of the neck to body joint so the upper frets are accessible, but that doesn't seem revolutionary.

Couple that with the high Gibson price tag and this may not go anywhere.
I'd change that "may not" to a "won't", with full confidence.

Ah, but think of the collector value in a few years when there's only a few examples in existence...

Shhhh, Brian...

Don't say "Zippo" too loud, or the next version will light cigars too!
Seems like we better release the next version earlier as well then, now the secrets out

I went by a local guitar store today and they were all laughing about this guitar. I showed them the video which they hadn't seen and all the comments that are on the Gibson sight. They are probably still laughing. Unfortunately they are a big Gibson dealer so there is an irony to it all. I asked if they had to buy everthing in the line and the owner stated "no". I doubt that he will be ordering any of these.

As far as Jake's posting of the pic of Johnny Winter that is a laugh for me too. As I saw him perform a couple of years ago he did his entire show with his Erlewine Laser. He only pulled out the Firebird for one encore song using a slide. It was the only song that his signiture style was recognizable.

Anyone else feels this way or perhaps feel like smashing your older low tech Gibsons like chief executive officer Henry Juszkiewicz did...............I'll send you my address and I'll reimburse your shipping costs. Just send them to me. The older the better

OK then.

The guitars are free.........

The ES-335 shipping cost is $4200.

The ES-339 is smaller, so it's only going to cost you $3400.

Plus insurance, of course!

Given the choice, he might not. But some manufacturers have a way of, er, twisting the arms of their dealers to, er, encourage them to order slow-moving merchandise.

What the heck? Did I only see a truncated presentation or was that the most boring, uninformative thing ever? It was about as bad, maybe worse, than listening to a politician's vague appeal-to-the-masses talking points.

I don't even have a clue what the Firebird X is about after watching that. Not a clue.
