New member..I have a question about value.

Post by Fred Mertz »

I'm considering selling my 360/12. I bought it new back in 2000. It's Burgundyglo.(color of the year) I bought it on one of online Rick sites. When I first got it I played it for about 20 minutes. Then I repacked it and sent it to Mark Arnquist in Washington. He installed a 12 saddle bridge and installed a new neck nut with a wider string spacing. When I got it back 2 months later I played for about 20 minutes again and put it back in its case, and put in the closest. It hasn't been out of the case since.

I am a bass player and just don't have the need for this Rick at this time.

Any idea on the value of this "new" 10 year old Rick?

Check these out and the sales info at bottom of each entry: http://www.rickresource.com/register/in ... celebrity=

Also check out recent ebay auctions.

If it has vintage pickups, it will be worth a bit more.

Welcome Dave! Burgundy was the color of the year in 2002, so your guitar is likely from then.

Thanks for the clarification on the year. I tried to look it up. The page I used to know of had the colors by year. It's been updated, and now doesn't.

I just opened the case. I found the original bridge and neck nut that was changed out by Mark, as well as a polishing cloth, allen wrenches, and original hang tag. and of course a "new" 360/12 in Burgundyglo. Would make excellent wall decoration!

Coincidentally, the exact same guitar sold today on eBay for $1,850.00

It was listed as being made in 2004.

That was a great deal -- with toasters, too: http://cgi.ebay.com/Rickenbacker-360-12 ... 4cf2bb7410

Jackplate indicates 5th week of 2004.

Under the "Marketplace" section you can post your question under "Appraisals".

Maybe Fred went to find Ethel . . . to ask about his Ricky.
