It wouldn't have went down like that if I directed that movie!

Yeah, I'm sure that bass wouldn't have been Fireglo...

Who's seen it? Is it any good? A.V. Club kinda' gave it the smack down when I read their review. They liked the special effects, though.

My wife and I love the graphic novels. We have Netflix, so I will probably give it a go. Ah, the A.V. Club. I am assuming you are referring to The Onion? I graduated from UW-Madison where The Onion began. I remember getting out of class on Thursdays IIRC, grabbing the new one and laughing my butt off. They had the most insane coupons in there—they were like free money. The pizza coupons were always "Buy One, Get One Free" from the good pizza places in town and I would freeze one of them and have pizza for dinner every night! It was like food stamps!

Memories...

My 17-year old son claims it is a classic and has seen it twice. To benchmark his taste, his second favourite film for the year so far was Inception.

It got around 8 out of 10 from most reviewers down under....

I'm really sorry I missed this movie; can't wait to see it on DVD. :)

The bass is a actual, real, authentic,Rick 4003, in case anyone was still wondering. . . . .

I went in to the movie not expecting much, but boy was I wrong!

It is very well written and funny with a lot of surprise pop culture references that not everyone will get. Probably the best movie I've gone to this year.

Unfortunately, I don't think they knew how to market the movie very well, but it is most definitely worth a rental.

Here's something funny I read at another forum.
In the bass battle, Scott's part, a Ric in the video, was played on a Mustang. The vegan's part, a Mustang in the video, was played with a Ric.

Crazy, huh?

If you look very closely, you'll notice that the two different 4003 FGs are interchanged rather arbitrarily, even before the "bass battle" scene. One has walnut wings and full-width inlays, while the other has neither.

So much for continuity.

HEY! CONTINUITY! ... nope, that doesn't have 11 letters...dang!

Its a ridiculous movie. I really enjoyed it, but not one I can watch over and over.
