10 years...

Post by bosco64 »

As I logged on my favorite forum tonight, I noticed that I joined this wonderful forum 10 years ago today. I think I found Peter's site from searching Alta Vista, and I think that it was right below BobKats Rickenbacker Page. Once I started to read the content on RickResource and the forum, I knew that I wanted to be part of the "family" per se, so I joined. Ten years later, I have met and talked with some of the most knowledgeable and passionate people when it comes to the guitars and basses we all love so much. I thought I knew alot about Rickenbackers before I joined, but I was dead wrong! Even though I haven't met all of you personally, I can safely say that I consider all of you good friends and one of these days I will make it to MARF or some other confluence down the road. This is also my 600th post as well. I know that I'm not as prolific as most of my friends on here, but I would like to think that I make a positive contribution to the forum in my posts. Much has changed in the last 10 years in my life, but its good to know that the RickResource Forum is still the best place to visit on the web. THANK YOU for all the years of friendship and sense of community on here, I am honored to know so many talented and passionate people around the world who love music...and love Rickenbackers. :D :D :D

Peter, thank you for making me feel welcome. You are a true gentleman. :)

Through this forum I was afforded the opportunity and indeed had the good fortune of becoming a friend of yours Ron and every time I pick up your JG 4003 I think of our telephone conversations and of course I think of you. Your bass was setup so well that I have never had to adjust it at all. That is a testament to your knowledge and love of these fine instruments.

I feel honoured to have a friend such as you. Thanks Ron and congrats on your 10 years worth of contributions to the RRF. :D

Well done! Ten years is a long time in internetland...
As you have suggested, one of the things that makes this a great forum is that so many folks know a lot about a little... meaning that everyone has their favorite little subject on Rickenbackers form pot codes to pickup windings, from tulips to tailpieces etc and folks are happy to share!
This is my favorite forum too!

Ron, congratulations! Ten years is one big mile marker! I feel like such a baby with my couple of years. I must say I came into the Forum knowing almost nothing and now.... WOW. This is in large part due to people like you who have probably forgotten more than I will ever know. Thanks for all you have done here and wishing you another several decades of unabashed posting!

Ten years is a long time in cyberspace. I'm glad you've stuck around that long, Ron. Best wishes.
