New Demo With Ric

Post by spongebob »

Went in the studio on Sunday to cut a demo with the new band.

We're doing pubs/clubs and functions at the mo, but intend to do some of our own stuff in the new year.

In the meantime, we do like to play around with songs a bit - wherever possible, I always try to create my own bass parts to make things a bit more ours.

We used the same engineer as my last band's demo last December. I always insist he makes space for the Rics!

Please check out the tracks at -

All tracks were (of course) done with a Ric - 1st two with the MG 2010, 2nd two with the JG 2009, both strung wth D'addario Chromes. I'm really happy with my bass tone....I put a lot down to my recent conversion to flats - they really give me the tone I always wanted! :D :D :D

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Thanks everyone - appreciate your kind comments. Happy to share, and to hear what everyone thinks.:D

I used a pick on all 4 tracks - just love that Ric 'n' pic combination!

I'm really happy with how they turned out - I can't imagine any other bass having so much presence.

....and I always think it makes me sound like a proper bass player!
