The guitar top right what is the finish? Tobacco burst?

I think that finish color is the basic Rick '58 Autumnglo in a particularly dark shade. More pics here:

The earlier ones, oddly, project a bit more. I say, "oddly", because they're made in typical Rick "billet" fashion, with the bodies routed from a maple billet and backs glued on.

The later ones are built like a traditional acoustic guitar, with bent sides and top and bottom glued on and neck slotted into the body.

You can plainly see the bent sides and standard construction, with the sides slotting into neck and heel blocks. Lots of bracing inside. Acoustically, quite flat and dull.

Paul, do you have any internal pictures of the first series you can share?

Thanks for sharing....that is awesome. I really like that old rockabilly music. It sure beats what's out there now for the most part. Last year I was lucky enough to get an old 330F. It's so nice to play and listen to.

Ron, what are the various bracings used on the 50's F models? Is it a single lateral brace, an X brace, or something else?

I do have some pics of the 330F, but I've had problems reducing my photo size to fit so that it would upload. Any help would appreciated. Ron O'Keefe was nice enough to post my pictures in the Ric Register. You can see it under the 1958 330F Mapleglo. It's the only one there in that color and I figured the green felt would make a good background. According to the number on the jack plate it was built in Dec of 1957. I had always wanted a full body model, but never intended on ever running across one until one magical morning walking into Gruhn guitars in Nashville. The next step of course was playing it, and I wasn't disappointed. Needless to say, if you want something bad enough.....

Thanks. I just had some minor adjustments to the set up and put some 11's on her. She plays and sounds great. Greg Voros at Gruhn does great work. (and no he didn't pay me to say that) He said he'd be nervous playing it because it was so clean.
