about Lemmy's other Rick (Model 2030) made me wonder - does the sound of a 4004, any version, resemble the sound of the 2020/2060/2030GF? As far as I can tell, they have the same electronics, and maybe the same pickup spacing as the current 4004. I've never seen a 2000 series bass in person. They were discussed in "Model of the Week 19," which is here:

Re: 4004 vs 2020/2060/2030GF?
I don't have a much experience with the 2000 series, from my little playing experience with them, they sound less Rick-like than the 4004 series to my ears mostly because the 2000 series has both-on necks. That's not to say they aren't nice sounding basses. When I played Erik's (blueflamerick) 2030, I thought it sounded P-bass like, but better. Definitely more weight to the 2000 series. I think there is a greater difference in tone between the two pickups on a 4004 as opposed to a 20*0, definitely more J-bass-like growl in a 4004 bridge pickup.
I have a decent recording of Erik's 2030 and a fair recording of a 4004Cii while playing with my current band, but it wouldn't be a good comparison because Erik's 2030 had a fresh set of roundwound strings installed prior to the recording and my 4004Cii has a broken in set of flatwound strings and the recordings were made differently.

JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!

Did the question in that thread about the pickups (hb's or singles) ever get answered?
