My beloved 4003DCM 75th anniversary bass

Post by turlu »

After several weeks of thinking, I decided to let go my beloved Rickenbacker 4003DCM 75th anniversary bass. Hopefully, it will end up in the hands of a RickResource forum friend up here !!!

Really, should I sell or not, that is the question ??? It needs to go to a good home for sure !!!!

Stephane, it's not a good time to sell rare items such as this.

You got anything else? Stocks or bonds, perhaps?

I must agree that the timing is not great these days to sell. It breaks my heart to let this go too, but I rarely play anymore and when I play, I only play my cherished 4001V63 which I dig too !!!

It would still probably be in your best interest to hold on to it in the current market. If you change your mind after a few months, then I would sell it.

Is this the one?

$2300+ with 5 days to go -- not bad! Photos are better than average -- this is a very hard finish color to capture. The back came out especially well, considering a flash was used:

Not everything is down in this market. There are still buyers willing to pay up for rarity. And it looks like you've got a little bidding war going on, with 4 bidders over $2000. I don't think one of these has been on ebay for a while, so you might not do too badly on the price.

Problem is, you may not know until the last second, and then it's too late.

Good luck!

I finally decided to keep that beauty with me a few more years !!! I simply could not let her go !!! If RickResource forum friends would treat her as well as me, I will then listen to offers !!! Honestly, the DCM is to die for !!!

Very nice bass!!

I sent you a PM.
If Mozart were with us today, he'd play a Fireglo 4001C64! ~~~*~~~ Beethoven, on the other hand, would play a Matte Jetglo 4001C64S!

She still smells like a brand new one !!! You open the case, and you can smell it !!!! These are absolutely gorgeous basses and unique of course !!! She deserves to be played, which I have not these past months. I am not advertising it other than here.
