Just curious but... what about this shirt says Rick Resource? It just says Rickenbacker on it and IMO could do with a much better design.

Erik: We are always interested in new designs that members might like to put forth. You can see some additional options here.

That's kinda what I was thinking, but when I clicked on the 'Rick Resource Forum Marketing' link in the origional post it said no items found. :|

Maybe i'll take some time tomorrow to get into PS and whip something up if you're open to new submissions.

Ok so this is just an example of an idea that I had, i'm still working on the vectorized image of my rick bass so theres not much definition on the body right now.

The raw image is several times the resolution here but I scaled it down and used a t-shirt template to give you an idea.

As the Ric designs are IP - how far can we go using the guitar designs and the name?

Make it a 360 like that and you got yourself a customer!

Naturally we would consult with RIC to insure that any design put forth is not a trademark infringement. With that point in mind creative and tasteful designs that promote Rickenbacker and the RRF are welcomed.

Peter, how about the logo you use for your avatar on a T-shirt? Or is that too much of a good thing?

Well vectorizing the initial design takes alot of time so i'm not sure that i'll be making seperate designs. IMO the bass is Ric's most iconic shape but if there's more interest in another model I can change it before going any further.

Fair enough, just make another version with a 481 headstock.

...and make all the letters italics, slanted fret style.

All fine and well, Erik, but when I designed the original graphics for the shirts back in '05, I sought and received JH's permission before even making the designs public. John was very specific about numbers and the issue that this be a non-profit venture; this it has remained.

I'd suggest you contact John and get his feedback. The image you have posted would be an infringement without his OK.

Thomas, the photo of FC Hall looks awful in print.

He deserves a heck of a lot of respect for everything he did to give the world of music these wonderful instruments.

Good points, Paul. Coming up with a design that is new, innovative and meets the requirements of RIC is easier said than done. Then, of course, after all of that we have to like it here too. :)
