Surely, he'll be missed.
If anyone hasn't seen the 6 episodes of his short-lived television show, "Police Squad", I would strongly recommend that you check them out. Very, very funny. A lot of the gags for the Naked Gun movies came from these shows. The American viewing audience apparently couldn't keep up with the show's pace and it was cancelled after four were shown. The shows stand up to repeated viewings. I think that the DVD is readily available. My son and I have watched it at least a half dozen times and catch something new nearly every time.
Sorry that you're gone. Leslie.

I guess he'll be missed - although IMO the younger you were, the funnier his movies were for you. Might be due to German dubbing though.
Just another Rickenbacker noob. // Also, not a native speaker of English - feel free to correct me and improve my English anytime you like.

R I P Leslie, had the pleasure of meeting him and his wife at the airport once, they were both very nice and down to earth, had a blast talking to them, he will be missed, truely a great talent, also it was 9 years ago that George Harrison left us too, R I P Leslie and George..

His dad was a mountie, and his brother Erik was a cabinet minister in Mulroney's Government in the 1980s...
He was an icon in Canada, mostly for having made it in the US, and yet remaining tied to his homeland.
Three memories of Leslie Nielsen...
The Captain in FORBIDDEN PLANET... The Captain in the POSEIDON ADVENTURE...
And most particularly a series of Beer Commercials that ran in the UK when I lived there in the early 90s...

Re: Leslie Nielsen - R.I.P.
years and years ago my sister was on a puddle jumper flight. She was seated next to him, but she didn't realize who he was - 'he seemed familiar' - thought he was someone she had met before. They sat there chatting for the enire flight. She said he was charming, interesting, funny and intelligent - his avocation never came up (i think that says something about him as well). Only after the flight was over, when another passenger came up and asked her if she knew who that was, did she realize she had been chatting with Leslie Nielsen. She thought he was a very cool down to earth person. The world is a slighty darker place with his light gone from it.
