I don't usually go for the gold hardware look - but I must say it looks great on that bass Paul. I'd play it!

The Schaller M4 is actually an adapted guitar tuner design from the 70's. I know they were original equipment on 4002's, and if I had one I wouldn't change them, but they're really not very precise. I just finished installing Hipshot Ultralights on my 4004L5, and the 22:1 ratio makes it much more precise as verified by my rack tuner. Unlike the M4's, they also don't have any lash to be taken up in either direction.
