I can only guess that the thread in question is located in the marketplace which is only accessible to users with more postings than me - or, in case you get the same message, it's been deleted or something.

Yes, it's in the Marketplace section. You have to have 30 posts to access that. You're almost there...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

honestly, getting 30 posts as a newbie is rather hard in this forum if you don't want to spam. And I'd say accessing the marketplace section in order to possibly buy the first Rick and actually be able to participate in threads seems next to impossible to me.

Your patients & persistance will be worth the effort as this forum is a wonderful resource, and a deep well of facts and knowledge can be found here.
Maybe you can speed things along by asking one or two Ric bass-related questions you may have, and the ensuing conversation should fill your post quota.

There are some forums where you'd need many more posts than 30 to access all of the areas. 30 posts is easy.BlueHelmet wrote:let's play a game of pong so I can see it ..

Beautiful instrument. Love that checkered binding.libratune wrote:Hey, John, good to hear from you! Hope all is well.
For those who may be interested, here's the link to John's thread containing photos and a description of his '69: viewtopic.php?f=68&t=391496&p=581899#p581899
The pot dates were mentioned in the description, but there wasn't mention of a serial no.
PS Doin' any Sol Hoopii these days?!
If Mozart were with us today, he'd play a Fireglo 4001C64! ~~~*~~~ Beethoven, on the other hand, would play a Matte Jetglo 4001C64S!

Welcome back, John!

I always figured if I were an M.D. instead of a Ph.D., I'd have more patients ...superdick2112 wrote: ... Your patients & persistance will be worth the effort ...

Welcome back John. I remember drooling over those pictures. I too hope your bass found a good home. Hey, don't be a stranger.

Hey John,
The only thing that I know for sure is that I still own your 73 4001.
Good to see you again.

hmmm...last time I saw it I think the horns were bandsaw'd off, the body painted matt black with some Benajamin Moore housepaint, some additional holes were knocked in the top with a wood chisel to mount two humbuckers and one of those sternberger bridges was put on it to replace the original. Oh, the fret markers were replaced with "hello kitty" inlays.
Other than that it looked great!

Because I told you before- oh, you can't do that.
