Cheers, shame about the colour though, eh? :D
Well, that could be fixed, but it'd take a LOT more work...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

And rather more nail varnish than I could either afford or explain away to the missus

Actually, I've got a bass that needs similar repairs. I kinda wish it was Jetglo  since that would be a lot easier to match than the Azureglo color that it is...

lol, If I stood outside my local with a Rickenbacker I'd be mugged within minutes, or freeze to death right now

A question though, Paul. You talk of diapers being the best for polishing, my local supermarket has just disposables but a search on the internet (thankfully nobody at work saw me) got me to these. Are they the sort you mean?

Tough call...I've not experienced Brit nappies...if they are like Turkish towels, then they probably won't work. You want cotton muslin cloth diapers.

Looks like I'll have to go with the high end microfibre cloths I use on the car then. Nothing cheap and scratchy, the car is black and I've spent hours getting the swirls, 'cobwebbing' and holograms out of the finish

Cotton T-shirts are my second choice; much better than microfiber cloths. I know lots of car guys love those things, but microfiber is abrasive on Rick CV, which is much softer than automotive clearcoat finishes.

+1

Try these Ian - it's what I use. Soft cotton and inexpensive. I used microfibres once before and they clouded the surface, soft cotton is best.
