How different is the tone between 1st run Lemmy and 2nd run?

There were four that I remember and maybe more I've forgotten. The first ones were done by John Quarterman, then Mike Ponce and Adam Page. The last ones were done by Rick Seccombe, who was probably the most skilled of all and who also pushed the limits of the original design.

Any idea of what numbers these guys did ? I would love to know who exactly carved #26.....

i'm sure they were just wood at this point with no parts on them thus no serial # yet ? just an outline where to carve.

Just matching pair wings, carved at the same time for continuity. There was a picture or video, I forget, of pairs laid out in various stages of carving. Anyone remember where or have it?

Here's an Erik Kutzler shot of RIC luthier Richard Seccombe carving the last batch of Lemmy's. The body wings in the extreme foreground ended up on Steve Woods' Lemmy.

There's no way at this point in time to know who carved what.

John, not surprised. With four carvers, that would be almost impossible. The only way I could think is you'd need a fair number of them in one place across the numbered sequence and try to sort into style then assign a name by the order of sequence number. But without all the instruments, you couldn't establish a break point, nor if someone finished wings a previous carver started.

At this point as John states, there's probably no way to know.

The only people that would, would be the carvers themselves. I'm pretty sure that they would be able to identify their own work if they saw it.

At least I have a 25% chance of getting it right with a guess now. That's better than the 100% chance of getting it wrong I had before John told us the four involved.
