Having difficulty deciding on that last minute X-mass gift?

Post by Ric N. Backer »

Well, this should satisfy... :D

1975 Rickenbacker double-neck guitars 4080 362/12

http://cgi.ebay.com/Two-1975-Rickenback ... 4cf36a2af0

It's for the person that has just about everything...

And look, it's under your $15,000.00 shopping limit.
If Mozart were with us today, he'd play a Fireglo 4001C64! ~~~*~~~ Beethoven, on the other hand, would play a Matte Jetglo 4001C64S!

I'm pretty sure these would have sold rather quickly had they been listed separately, & not as a set. I contacted the seller when the listing first appeared, as I've been looking for a nice 4080 for some time now, and asked to be notified if he decides to split up the set.

The recent high (for me, anyway) sale prices for 4080s have me thinking twice about such a purchase - after all, you could have two or three nice new Ric guitars or basses for the price of a 4080, and as some here have pointed out, a doubleneck really is more of a novilty item than a daily player.

Still, my pulse quickens and my palms get sweaty whenever I see a nice 4080, so you never know. Someday...

You're probably on target regarding the novelty thing. I had the 6-12 Gibson double-neck and eventually got rid of it because it was more an ornament than anything else.

I agree, if they split the package up into two separate listings, they'd do much better. Not many people walking around with that kind of bread in their pockets.
