If you can only have one, I'd say that one is a great one to have!cheyenne wrote:I used to have serious GAS for a CS limited edition,,then my '88 V63 found me. Its my only Rick currently,, and I love it.

I was never into any of those bands. I've heard of them, but never paid much attention to their music. Hey I didn't know who Lemmy was until learning about the bass made by RIC. Just not my kind of music.winston wrote:Rudy Sarzo played with Whitesnake, Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne, Blue Öyster Cult and a number of other fairly high profile bands. He's a great bass player IMO.
Yes indeed. Fantastic band. You were fortunate to meet Annie and Jon.jps wrote:Robert, given the music you are into, I hope you know of Renaissance. Here is a couple of my favorites from them. I saw Renaissance in '79 and after the show got to meet and spend some time with Annie and Jon.

I saw Genesis many times, from their first US tour in early '72 (Foxtrot), up through the Wind And Wuthering tour., Met and spent some quality time with them, too.Ric N. Backer wrote:Yes indeed. I should have also included early Genesis (when Peter Gabriel was with the band), and Emerson, Lake, & Palmer.
Love this (Genesis - The Musical Box , Belgian TV - Six Hours Live) :

Genesis was years ahead of anyone else back then.
Their album, "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" was like Sgt. Pepper to me. Unbelievable!![]()
And here's our beloved Ric in action (Genesis - The Fountain of Salmacis):

Yea, back in the day when music was well thought out and gimmickry wasn't what sold albums (excuse me, CDs).

That's what I did with my '82 4001S, along with new pickups to boot...aceonbass wrote:Just take your V63 and do a "Squire" paint job on it. That's essentially what Chris did. You can just skip the flowered wallpaper and go straight to the Bananna-Glo. The color alone is half the vibe.
