Mystery Ric tailpiece

Post by egosheep »

I saw this for sale today:

The seller said he bought it off ebay and the return address on the box was Rickenbacker USA, and that the box had RIC promo posters in it along with the tailpiece. Anyone ever seen this before?

I haven't seen one like that before.

Me either Gary! I asked the guy to track down the invoice if he could. I'll post some more photos when I get it. I went ahead and bought it because it was so strange.

it doesn't look like ric at all but never say never, i have purchased nice teisco bridge from ric outlet couple years ago...but looking at your brass thing .. i have similar piece that came from guy who picked up lot's of things from fender in mid 80's ...i would venture to take a look at some robben ford models with this...

Looks machine-shop made...could be some sort of a test or prototype part. Only the Rickengods and Rickengits know for sure.
