The chord name is there in The Black Book Howard but I could not find the chord in my Chord Bible and the stuff online just does not sound like the chord the lads used.

John this should sound great on your old Gibson ES 125.

Now I need to figure out Paul's bass line and see what I can do to approximate Ringo's simple but perfect drumming. This is all just for fits and giggles of course.

I heard those double stops on the root notes John but I need to try to isolate the bass a bit better so I can figure out the runs he plays. They are so sweet.

In The Beatles Complete Chord Songbook they call that chord a E11/#5.

That's why I quit learning the more obscure chord names 40 odd years ago. They can have two or three different names.

I just had time to play the chord you posted Gary and that is indeed the chord The Beatles used. Thanks very much. I would have been trying different chord shapes for days I suspect.

A great number and a favourite of mine too. I also love the bass chords that Paul is using on this song.

It is indeed a great song. Simple to the ears, but complex on a whole different level. That was the beauty of their compositions.

The delivery is superb of course. Unmatched in their day IMO. Kudos to George Martin for capturing the essence of their music.
