Beautious! Best of luck, and don't let it go. they're starting to dry up quick. Not that they sold a ton anyway!

By the way Brian... you might want to remove and replace all of the screws that fasten the bridge to the body at your earliest convenience. I've had two of them shear their heads off, leaving the screw stuck in the body. Good thing there's NINE of 'em! Talk about redundancy!

Age, or cheap metal... whatever the reason, I'd advise you to replace 'em with good, solid wood screws of matching dimensions.

Thanks for the tip Alvaro.

Thanks John! I gave it the Scratch X/Zymol treatment and a new set of strings. She shined up pretty nice.

Thanks for bringing this thread back up, Brian. I just took a few minutes and read all the way through. Cool info about Macca getting another Rick from JH.
Also, beautiful pics of the BB1200. I've got an early 80's BB400 as a back up to my 4003s and I love it. While it may be the poorer cousin to the 1200 the quality of those early (Japan made) BB's is really good. Even with the bolt on neck, my BB plays great and has decent sustain. Oh, and yes the plush green in those Yamaha cases in ugly!

My BB1200 is great. Just don't let Roosa know I said that.

Belive it or not, though I love the sound of Ric's and Hofner's and own each, I absolutely love the sound he gets out of his Kay Jazz Bass Special, that bass has a great full sound, and since he is favoring the Hofner allegidly because its lighter, would love for him to play the Kay over the Ric or Hofner.

I want him to start playing the 4001S again, and grow back his rockin' Wings-era shag mullet!

Can you direct me to songs on which he played the Kay Jazz Special?

That's full playback, are you sure it's also what he recorded with? To me it sounds like a Hofner bridge pickup.

BTW for the reissues Kay uses a Hofner tailpiece...
