21 Fretted Bassess - Stand up and be counted!

Post by Ric N. Backer »

So how about it? Care to post a pic of your 21-fret Ric so we can see which one's really do exist? :D

2011 is the year of the 21-fretter!

Detailed discussion (whatever that means) encouraged, too.
If Mozart were with us today, he'd play a Fireglo 4001C64! ~~~*~~~ Beethoven, on the other hand, would play a Matte Jetglo 4001C64S!

#13 for january, 1970...the "crawlspace bass" !

download/file.php?id=22019&mode=view

text posted elsewhere..."crawlspace bass" is exactly that. she was found under my drummer's rented house in scarborough, ontario. it was owned by his brother. sadly, had to toss the original case as it was badly destroyed by mold and mildew. the mapleglo finish was mostly eaten away by this mold, but did not affect the maple much. i got her for $250.00 cdn. in 1984. used her for one show in bradford, ontario soon after and decided to retire her for a while ( still retired) as she did not have the output that my '64 and '68 had. (this was a band just before the DWaRfS) she's still in the wood awaiting time to be laquered.

perfect. modified the tailpiece, as on my '64 and '68, to accept the post '73 saddle bridge for better intonation and replaceable parts. re-did the both of the headstock wings as the treble side walnut was the same color as the maple. installed reverse mid '70's klusons as the grovers sucked poo-poo as they kept falling apart !
