It would very nice next to my Blueburst 4004Cii!

Did that already! Must be a very early birthday present from Paulie. Thanks Paulie! You shouldn't have, but I'll take it!

JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!

The Yamaha just wasn't as visible. And he didn't use it nearly as long. Just the video from Wings Over America will ensure more air time for the 4001.ilan wrote:With the Macca connection, I'm surprised the BB1200 wasn't/isn't more popular.

The answer to that (original question posed) resides on the first side of the Abby Road record album. Hint: it's the last track!
If Mozart were with us today, he'd play a Fireglo 4001C64! ~~~*~~~ Beethoven, on the other hand, would play a Matte Jetglo 4001C64S!

I'm not surprised he doesn't use a 4004. He's obviously used to that tiny neck on the Hofner. It would be a huge jump to go to the 4004.

Speaking of the Yamy, it's actually a custom BB300. I remember a guy at a local music store here, ordering one made like Macca's as well. except a righty of course. I've thought of getting one, but already have a cool P-bass, plus 5-stringer P. Had a 4003-S custom ordered in the '80s for me, so I'm pleased with it. T-I's, a proper setup, and just change from Vox amo to '72 Bassman 100, switch the pickup selector, and you've got every sound he ever used.
Of course, the mutes have to be up as well. Got a '67 Höfner, but now also want the re-issue Stu model.

Paul's Yamaha was a "Broad Bass 1200" in the official finish (though unimaginative) "Brown Stain" . Americanized to BB here. If you have a BB1200 as I do and many others, you have the same bass Macca's got. His does only say Yamaha on the headstock though.
