It wasn't a very long argument and it was on another forum. Someone transcribed the bass part to "Something" And had the bridge before the solo ending on a C below the staff. That meant that Paul would have had to tune down the E not to D (my error in the initial post) but to C. Most of us argued that it was unlikely given the fact that he played other Cs and didn't u=tune down, plus it would have been a very floppy E string if he had. Some insisted, that Paul tuned down. I had never noticed that in the bridge, he does the little trill from high E to F# -- maybe my ears are shot. What great line.
