Post by berth »

Ok, this is not peticularly about favorite amp settings. Though these are pictures of my fav. amp settings with corresponding basses at the moment. But I just could'nt find a decent topic to post these pictures, and I do like them. ;-)

That's a very nice "setting" for both the bass and the amp!

But, we need a "full frontal" shot...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

It did. But the abuse you see is just the black paint which some former owner (and I own this amp some 30 years now) painted over it which is chipping on some places. The tolex is just fine on almost all the amp (and cab).

Ehh, there are 2 shots with 2 different basses. ;-)

The vintage sound is not replicated here (as I took the picture later). The Rock and Roll sound is.

Just on the edge where the neighbors don't complain.

I've learned to trim down the bass frequency. The Ampeg SVT 4-10 HLF really packs a wallop. :D
If Mozart were with us today, he'd play a Fireglo 4001C64! ~~~*~~~ Beethoven, on the other hand, would play a Matte Jetglo 4001C64S!

Nice! Your settings are similar to mine on the Bassman. Funny, at least on mine, that turning up the bass on a bass amp gives unsatisfactory results.

You only spy half of it. ;-) (It's the "normal" one for 100 watt)

+1. Alan Davey (formerly of Hawkwind, now in Gunslinger amongst others) has the bass even on 0. It gets muddy very fast if you open up the bass too far with high volume. But it does not lack any balls when you don't i.m.h.o..
