700 Series Acoustics - Names?

Can anyone explain what the acoustic 700s are named after?
I couldn't find it anywhere... but assume they're names of places?

Well, Shasta probably refers to Mount Shasta:

Comstock is likely related to the "Comstock Lode", a very large silver ore discovery:

Shiloh probably refers to places relating to the "Battle of Shiloh", a major battle in the U.S. Civil war fought in 1862, at least that's the most famous historical reference to Shiloh. There are others, going back to biblical references as well as a Canadian pop singer...

Laramie is a city in Wyoming USA:

Of course, knowing RIC, they could refer to completely different things, like the 'C' in the C series...

I can't believe I am the first to question why they're called like that? Or am I?

Would be funny to name a guitar after a battle, though... makes as much sense as calling it a dreadnought

Most Americans will easily recognize the names of the series as coming from our Cowboy history/mythology. But if you weren't raised on Cowboy movies and comics you might have to wonder...

Well, here in the U.S.A., most people have heard these names and have some vague recollection as to what they are referencing. Outside the U.S., it's doubtful a lot of people would have such knowledge, and so, quite understandable as to why you wouldn't know...

Edit: Yes, the Western/Cowboy connection makes sense, though I'm not exactly sure where "Shiloh" comes in, perhaps the show "The Virginian / The Men From Shiloh". There are a lot of westerns with references to Shiloh. Of course, a lot of the U.S. Western expansion came directly after the Civil War, and a lot of the people involved were war veterans, so names and such tended to get carried on into the west...
