Re: Help me find my 4001?
Well this is odd. Small world indeed. I am the current owner of SD2272. It is my second Rick, and I've owned it for about 9 years now. It's a great bass and I can see how John would miss it. It's also incredibly well preserved. I don't like to use the word "mint," but this one is about as close as I could imagine in a 33 year old instrument.
Interestingly, he bought his first Rick about a month after I bought mine (May and June, 1982) and we are both about the same age.
John contacted me last night via PM and I told him that I am open to the idea of sending it back to him.
20 years with it? His first Rick? Wow! I would be a heartless tool to not consider sending it back.

Yeah, this is Jeff's big chance to cast away that self proclaimed "I am a t**l" moniker!
Do it!

Hey! I wear that "tool" moniker like a badge of honor (honour to you), sir! Whatever the outcome of this situation, I shall proudly remain...a tool!

That Jeffy T is alright! My '75 4001 FL got it's missing jackplate replaced by his generosity. He's that kind of guy!
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!
