LEMMY BASS ODDITY...

Post by BAD RONBO, KiLLeR DWaRfS »

interesting on this pic from "the bay" that lemmy had a 4003 surround and cover installed as a hand rest, with no pickup or rout under it ! old habits die hard !

I'm pretty sure that Lemmy put the assembly on after his got that LK. There is no pickup in the assembly.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

I did do a walnut stain on the neck blank. That thing on the output jack is the male end from my Zzyzx Snap Jacks cable. The bass is wired with the bridge pickup having it's own volume, which is hot all the time, and the middle and neck pickups going through the selector switch with a master volume. The sound is pretty much classic Ricky grind all the time. The top is routed so that the guard sits flush with it.

interesting. i was wondering how you were going to deal with the pickup situation. my MD-1252 had two switchcraft toggles where the first one dealt with the two neck pickups, then the neck signal was fed to the usual neck pickup leg of the second one. also had the blend pot . i had two micro switches also , one to bypass the cap on the rear pickup and one to bypass the blend pot.

oui, mon ami ! joined my first professional band "titan" from halifax, nova scotia, in 1981. that foto is around late '81 early '82. that was a great bass with a thin "D" neck. i put on the walnut head wings.
