The Searchers In Sweden 1964-1967

Post by admin »

Bjorn Eriksson and I have finished the first draft of The Searchers' visits to Sweden in 1964 to 1967. It also includes information about The Searchers' Rickenbacker guitars, particulary Mike Pender's Rose-Morris Model 1993.

Your comments during this early stage are most welcome. You will find the article here.

I cannot begin to tell you have much digging was required to get this information, and period photos, however, the findings provide new information and for this reason it has been worth the effort.

The next time the Swedish Radio Sessions are released, at least we will be able to post more information in the booklet about the dates of the sessions with a bit more precision.

Thanks Don. It is a good beginning and will be the subject of much revision over the next while.

Part 6 of the Searchers in Sweden has been updated to include The Byrds who performed at Sveriges Radio just a few months before The Searchers radio session in May 1967.

This performance set the stage for The Searchers' final radio session and underscores the extent to which the Swedish fans embraced folk rock at the time.
