Motorhead on Conan

Post by Lefty4001 »

The Rickenbacker was howling on the TV tonight. That is such a purty bass.

I have edited your post John. Profanity is not allowed on this forum.

Sorry Brian. I didn't realize it at the time, just coloring the post by quoting his TRC. I'll use an asterix or something in the future.

Cheers

Even on my cheapo computer speakers, that Ric growl comes through!

Lemmy has four or five monitors surrounding him, the guitard guy gets only two? Lemmy must be going deaf.

When I first met him in '80, he said he was pretty much deaf in one ear (his left IIRC - could be wrong). I can't imagine it's got any better.

I have my tickets to see them in San Francisco at The Warfield next Wednesday.....

I do believe that Mikkey Dee is currently the best Metal/Rock drummer on the planet. He has a precision and attack that is matched with a very rare ability to swing when needed. He also has a snare technique very reminiscent of Iain Paice IMHO which is quite rare to hear these days. I've seen him live many times now, and without a doubt, he's the engine that allows Motorhead to be as good as they are when they straddle that fine line between noise and power.

Of course I'm very much aware that Motorhead are an, ahem, acquired taste.....

Gareth, make sure to get there in time for some Clutch, too. They always have a great groove and their drummer JP kicks it too. He did an album with Wino a couple years back that was killer.

Mikkey Dee is awesome. I saw him with King Diamond back in the 80s. MONSTER drummer, and kind of "overqualified" for Motorhead. :P
